Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush, an American pop group was
formed in the year 2009. The group is composed of Kendall Schmidt and James
Maslow along with Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega. They signed their first
contract with Nick Records in 2009 before switching to Columbia Records. They
appeared on Nickelodeon's television series, Big Time Rush. The show aired from
November 28th in 2009 until July 25, 2013. The pilot episode featured the
group’s first single promo, "Big Time Rush". The group has released
three studio albums: BTR in 2010, Elevate in 2011, and 24/Seven in the year
2013. The band went on an indefinite hiatus from 2014 that lasted until 2021
when the band resumed live performances and released their single "Call It
Like I See It". Nickelodeon has signed Big Time Rush to a record deal in
2009 in conjunction with the television show Big Time Rush. In the following
year, Nickelodeon partnered with Columbia/Epic Label Group to create the show
and include the original music that was used in the show. The first single of
the series, "Big Time Rush" came out on November 29 in 2009.
Officially made public on Nickelodeon, it first aired in the U.S. November 2009
and was later aired worldwide. The show premiered during a one-hour special
trailer for the series and is the current theme for the show's opening.
Promotional singles were also released by the series, including "City is
Ours" (with Big Time Rush) and "Any Kind of Guy". Big Time Rush
also performed the Play song titled "Famous". It was made available
to iTunes on the 29th of June, 2010. Another track, "Halfway There",
was released to iTunes on April 27, 2010 after its premier in the series. The
band soon became their first charting single on the Billboard Hot 100. It was
ranked 93 due to digital sales. On September 21, 2010, Big Time Rush released
second single "Till I Forget About You", to promote the release of
their debut album. The album, which is titled BTR It was released on October 11
in 2010. The album was released at number three on the Billboard 200. It sold
an initial 67,000 copies.
