Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood. Britney was a dancer as a child and was a winner of numerous competitions in gymnastics. Britney loves to sing and, more importantly, she was in love with dancing classes. Britney applied for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) at age eight. She was rejected due to her young age. It led her to an off-Broadway production, "Ruthless", for two years as the lead character. At age 11 she tried again for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) and was this time able to make her debut as a mouseketeer, alongside numerous stars of today (Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez of *NSYNC , and Ryan Gosling). Her big break, however, came after she was signed Jive Recording Artist in the latter part of the 90s. Britney was a huge success after her first album, "Baby one more time." "...Baby another time" in 1999. She sold 13 million copies (as of July 2001), of her second album "Oops !...I did it Again" that was released in May 2000. Britney was born to Lynne Spears (and Jamie Spears) and has a huge sister named Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was bound to become an upcoming star at a young age. Britney loved singing and was inspired by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) at the age of was eight. However she was too old to be accepted. Britney relocated to New York with her mother and infant sibling. She was a part of numerous TV advertisements as well as being an understudy for Natalie Portman in "Ruthless" off-Broadway. Her passion for dance and music grew and, two years after, she auditioned for an appearance on "Mickey Mouse" again, and this time, won the part with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
